I began my vegetable garden late in the planting season, but it's looking promising so far. I planted Cherry Tomatoes, Roma Tomatoes, Heirloom Tomatoes, Chocolate Mint, Yellow Sweet Peppers, Cucumbers, Garlic Chives, Jalapeno Peppers. These were planted about June 11, then a couple weeks ago I really got the planting fever, so I got a bunch of celery from the grocery store and cut off about 3 inches of the root end and planted it. I also took a stalk of romaine lettuce and one piece had a little of the base still attached so of course I put that into the ground. Happy to say that both of those are starting to grow nicely. I then planted some onions from those I used for cooking. They have not come up yet but I'm hopeful. Finally I finished my garden by planting Pimento and Baby Patio Eggplant. Being able to plant seeds, plants, and scraps in the ground and adding a bit of sun and water and coming out with wonderful healthy veggies is simply awesome.
