More News On The Salmonella Saintpaul Outbreak

It seems that while our federal government spent two months blaming tomatoes for the outbreak, the Minnesota Health Department traced it down to jalapenos within the first two weeks and let the federal government know that jalapenos were the most likely culprit.

In the meantime the tomato growers took the brunt of the unfortunate blame. If you haven't yet heard they are now saying that jalapenos grown in the United States are safe, the peppers grown in Mexico are contaminated. So for the very near future if you are shopping and are not sure of where they've been grown, just don't buy them.

It's such a shame we have to worry about how our food is handled! I love summer because this morning I went out at picked green peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro from my garden and made a huge omelet! No worries about salmonella!

Kathleen, Thought you might want to know that I couldn't get the comment form to work on your Dying For Food blog.
