WINTER SQUASH

I have this week, broadened my squash experiences with a wonder winter squash called butternut. I sure most of you know what it is and may already enjoy it. The last squash I tried was the spaghetti squash and I enjoyed the first couple bites, but found that was all I could handle of it. I can't explain it, it just seemed to get annoying after a while.

The butternut squash was a little difficult to cut because of it's firmness. However I had the time and cut off all the outside and then sliced and cubed the inside. I steamed it till it was soft but still firm enough to stay on my fork. I then sprayed my fake butter on it and added just a pinch of salt and some pepper.

It was amazing. I couldn't get enough. It was very similar to sweet potatoes and very filling. From what I've read the other winter squashes are similar in taste with only mild variations.

It's wonderful to discover a food that you adore and is good for you at the same time. This squash is better for you than potatoes and sweet potatoes. I think it will even make a great between meal snack.

I love squash. We sprinkle cinnamon on it. (I know, that's weird - but it is good.)
